Puneet Sharma is an accomplished filmmaker, director, writer, researcher and creative professional with more than three decades of experience across documentaries, docu-dramas, fiction television, multi-camera programming, advertising and branded content. His extensive industry experience spans some of India’s leading television networks, production houses and creative organisations.
He has directed acclaimed factual and historical series including Pradhanmantri – Seasons 1 & 2, Bharatvarsh, and Rescue Ops for National Geographic, alongside popular television programmes such as Crime Patrol, Savdhaan India, Special Squad, Code Red and Aap Ki Kacheri. His work on Rescue Ops received a Best Show award, while Pradhanmantri received the Ramnath Goenka Award and has subsequently been included in the curriculum of various universities.
Puneet has also made significant contributions as a writer, including writing the first-draft screenplay and dialogues for the feature film Sardar Udham Singh. His recent creative work includes directing a vertical series for Vertical TV, directing Khaaki for Hotstar, writing screenplay and dialogues for Fuh Se Fantasy on JioCinema, and writing the feature film Ek Ehsaas.
His extensive fiction and television portfolio includes approximately 200 episodes of Savdhaan India, along with Crime Patrol, Special Squad, Code Red, Jasoos Vijay, Bhakti Mein Shakti, Rishte Ek Aaina, Dobaara Zindagi, Sansani and several other television productions across leading Indian networks.
His expertise also extends to documentaries and docu-drama, with projects covering history, society, politics, culture and social issues. His portfolio includes Gandhigiri, Maha Kavi, 7 RCR, a documentary on the tigers of Ranthambore, and films created for government and educational organisations.
In addition to fiction and documentary filmmaking, Puneet has extensive experience in multi-camera, reality and studio programming, having worked on projects including Science Mein Twist, Aap Ki Kacheri with Kiran Bedi, The Amazing Race, and various studio and live programmes.
Over the course of his career, he has also held senior creative leadership positions including Creative Consultant at Percept Advertising, Head of Creative & Content and CEO at Space Monkey Media Project, Creative Head at India News/NewsX, Creative Director and Senior Executive Producer at UTV Mumbai, and Creative Director at TACT Films.
Alongside his professional filmmaking career, Puneet has a strong interest in mentoring and developing young creative talent. He conducts filmmaking and story-writing workshops, including programmes aimed at young people in remote areas, with a focus on creative expression, confidence building and visual storytelling.
